Doctors' Weight Management Program

Our team here at the Doctors’ Weight Management Program at Sansum Clinic (DWMP) recently learned that HMR, the company which is its food supplier, will be closing its business after nearly 40 years.  Like so many other companies, HMR has faced significant financial challenges since the onset of COVID-19. The costs to produce, package and ship the food have gone up significantly. HMR made the challenging decision earlier this year to raise prices, but even that didn’t cover the additional costs, and the business ultimately became unsustainable. 

Unfortunately, this means the time has come to close DWMP.  This has been an especially difficult decision, due to the many inspiring stories about successful results and changed lives because of this program. We will continue to support patients who are currently enrolled in DWMP through January  2023. Until then, we will be focused on educating about healthy eating habits and encouraging exploration of the other nationally-recognized weight loss programs available in our area.

Every DWMP team member has been passionate about the work we do to help people lose weight and improve their quality of life. In this spirit, we will be working closely with our patients to ensure their transition is as safe and compassionate as possible. 

Our health coaches are now contacting those patients enrolled in HMR’s Phase 1 or Phase 2 program, or in a coaching group, so we can best support you in this process.
